Not a bad week for somebody. Picking up a degree one day and the big cheque the next!
The December 100 Club draw was held yesterday and the month’s winners were:
£120 – Tom Henson
£50 – Colin Breed
£30 – Brian Humphries
The next draw will be held on Sunday February 24.
We are now close to the full 100 members (although this is not a limit) and some people have more than one entry. With 38 prizes through the year, every 100 Club member has around a 40% chance of winning at least once.
It is now easier than ever to join:
1. If you currently pay your subscription by Direct Debit, please complete your personal details and Question 5 only on this form here https://bit.ly/2Korri4 and the monthly 100 Club subscription will be set up using your existing Direct Debit details. You will receive email confirmation of the revised or new payment amount and date of first payment.
2. If you do not currently have a Direct Debit or wish to include the monthly 100 Club payment in setting up a new Direct Debit to pay your playing subscription please complete step 1, answering ALL the questions, and then set up the Direct Debit securely online here https://bit.ly/2M4jZNY (it only takes 1 minute if you have your bank account details handy). You will receive email confirmation the Direct Debit has been set up and then – usually within 48 hours – confirmation and date of first payment.

As one outcome of a comprehensive risk review led by Club property supremo, Michael Moore, new formalised speed restrictions have been introduced in the car park.
Drivers are required to observe the 5mph limit and treat this as a limit and not a target. It will be reinforced, along with other Club policy, by the proposed behavioural rules being presented for adoption as the Club’s by-laws at the AGM on Wednesday (see under documents).
While practicality dictates sensible speeds when the car park is busy, this is not always the case when there is less traffic. There have been some near misses in the past, particulalry when younger members are on site.
As well as the speed limit signs, there is now a speed ramp at the car park entrance. This is quite steep so members need to be aware, especially those in low slung vehicles. It is intended to discourage the habit of some drivers who swing into the Club entrance at inappropriate speeds.
And shorter-sighted outfielders and drivers less able to use rear-view mirrors will welcome the vivid yellow painting of the car park kerb drop to the ground. While beaching of cars has been thankfully rare, many will have experienced close calls in reversing near the car park edge!
